Details: Geographic Technologies Group (GTG) is seeking a GIS Manager to work in our GIS Department. Be a part of a GIS group that remains on the cutting edge. We are looking for an experience strategic planner with excellent verbal and written communication skills. As a GIS Manager you will have the opportunity to travel across the country visiting various local government agencies and working with all departments. You will work directly with clients to understand their needs and business processes and identify effective GIS solutions through the strategic planning process. Additionally, you will work on high-level GIS projects.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary will be negotiable based on education and experience
•$65,000 - $80,000

Job Description:
•Strategic plan writing for local government departments
•Conduct departmental interviews
•Oversee client communication and provide weekly progress reports over the phone and via email
•Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
•Experience utilizing geospatial technology in a professional environment
•Familiarity with database design and implementation
•Demonstrated and verifiable leadership experience
•Ability to travel overnight, up to five nights at a time

Education and Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in a strategic planning capacity for local government or extensive local government GIS experience.

University degree or college diploma in the field of geography, computer science, information technology, business management or related field

Other Key Information:
•Position is located at GTG’s Corporate Headquarters in Goldsboro, NC – one hour east of Raleigh.
•Candidate is expected to live in the greater Goldsboro area. However, candidates with a strong background who cannot commit to North Carolina will still be considered.
•Candidate should enjoy the pace and lifestyle afforded in a rural Eastern North Carolina setting.
