The Broward County GIS Users Group meets the last Wendesday of the month at 2:30 p.m. It is open to all individuals interested in GIS, both public and private. This group has been in existence for 6 years, providing South Florida with opportunites to see the latest technologies, provide opportunities for networking and as a forum for discussion on GIS trends.

Central Florida GIS Users Group -
The CFGIS initiative seeks to increase coordination among users of geographic information systems in Central Florida. Its two primary components are a regional users group and a data clearinghouse. CFGIS efforts also include work on developing data guidelines that, if widely adopted, will make it easier to share data created by different organizations
East Texas GIS and GPS User Group (ETUG) -
The purpose of the group is to bring together users at any level in public, private and educational sectors who are interested in geotechnology. This group will facilitate open dialogue, public awareness, data sharing, professional growth and representation to assist its membership in their everyday jobs. ETUG has half day meetings once a quarter and a one day conference in the late fall.
Foothills ARC User Network -
The mission of Foothills Arc User Network is to provide a regional network for the exchange of knowledge related to the use of ESRI and associated products. Meetings are held quarterly and highlights are GIS project presentions from members, software specific updates, and information regarding regional GIS related issues. FAUN regularly organizes ESRI-instructed on-site training classes (beginning to advanced levels) to provide members an opportunity to attend ESRI training locally. GIS Alliance Club -
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are software applications designed to support decision-making, site-selection, spatial analysis and cartography (map making). This technology is widely used by industry and government to support applications such as urban growth management, natural resources/conservation and utilities management. The Geographic Information Systems program prepares students for employment as GIS technicians and analysts. Graduates are employed by a wide variety of government agencies, utilities, and private businesses that operate and maintain GIS facilities.

Maine GIS User Group - The purpose of the Maine GIS User Group is to encourage coordinated development and effective use of geographic information and related technologies. The Group's purposes embrace other types of information and technologies as may be appropriate. The Group's activities include, but are not limited to, the advocacy of GIS users' interests and the support of the membership in their individual initiatives, increase public and private awareness, education, research, professional development, and the promotion and/or development of policies, standards, and guidelines. The Group serves as a facilitator of coordination activities. Participation in the Group does not preclude other coordination activities or taking positions that may be inconsistent with those adopted by the Group. The Group fosters increased understanding and interest in the development, operation and maintenance of geographic information and geographic systems.
Manitoba GIS Users Group - The Manitoba GIS Users Group is a group of GIS professionals using geographic information systems for spatial data management, analysis, and visualization. Formed to facilitate communication between people working in all areas of GIS, the users group meets two to four times per year to allow its members to learn more about current activities and technologies within the industry and to network with their peers.

North East Florida GIS Users Group -
The Northeast Florida GIS Users Group provides GIS users in the region a chance to share informaion on many topics related to GIS. Topics include but are not limited to: software, hardware, data, training, and job openings. Many members work for local governemts or local utility providers. The group meetings are held quarterly, and are usually hosted by the Northeast Florida Regional Planning Council.

We have been meeting bi-monthly for seven years. Informational presentations are held at the Boston Store in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Site visits at area GIS installations are also done.
